Youth

Nisei were young Americans with dreams and aspirations like any other American of that era. Even though they were imprisoned in these desolate camps, they worked together as a group at keeping their hopes and dreams alive.

"What I missed the most by going to camp was high school football, and the reason for that is my older brother and the next door neighbors, they were all high school football players, they were grooming my to letter in football ever since i can remember. As early as five years old. They used to make me run through the line and throw me down on the the grass so wouldn't be scared. Boy I ate that up and I was ready for high school football. And then the war starts, no high school football." (Robert U.)
